Why seeing it in person matters

Most of our work is in the small details, and that is really what matters. What we find in person decides which finishing products we use and exactly how we treat your cabinets. A few of the things we check:

• Whether the cabinets were previously painted.
• The wood species (oak, maple, poplar, hickory, and so on), and whether the sides or faces are vinyl, laminate, or veneer.
• The condition of the drawer boxes, the hinges, and the handle holes.
• Any doors or drawer fronts that are failing, and why, so we can make sure it does not happen again.
• Whether the toe kicks are fully secured or any are loose, and what needs caulking and what does not.
• The square footage of the fronts, and of the entire set.

The same is true for interior and exterior painting. It is impossible to give you an accurate estimate from photos alone, and any company that says they can is not telling you the full story. That is exactly where surprise back-charges come from.

If there is truly no way to get access

If access is genuinely not possible, we can give you a ballpark range up front. From there, most people choose one of two paths.

Or: Take the range, arrange full access, then we come out to look in person first. If you're happy with the final price, we schedule from there. One thing to know, we are first come, first served, so waiting on an in-person visit can push your start date out further than you'd like.
