Fulton Revivals Limited Warranty
Fulton Revivals stands behind the quality of our work. This page sets out the full terms of the limited warranty referenced in your estimate.
Coverage period
This limited warranty covers the workmanship of your completed project for one (1) year from the date the project is completed.
What is covered
For one year from completion, Fulton Revivals will repair, at no charge, defects that result directly from our application, including:
- Finish defects caused by our application: peeling or adhesion failure of the coating we applied.
- Application flaws caused by our work: drips, runs, or missed areas.
- Bleed-through that results from our surface preparation or sealing on this project.
What is not covered
This limited warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and use over time.
- Damage from impacts, abuse, pets, moisture or water exposure, or harsh or abrasive cleaning products (see "Caring for Your Finished Cabinets" below; these exclusions apply because written care instructions are provided to you).
- Natural wood movement, settling, or changes caused by humidity or temperature, and bleed-through inherent to certain wood species even when properly sealed (see "About Your Existing Cabinets").
- The condition of existing cabinet boxes or components we did not refinish, replace, or alter. This applies especially to refacing projects, where original boxes are retained.
- Surfaces that have not been reasonably maintained, and areas previously painted or modified by anyone other than Fulton Revivals.
- Work performed, or damage caused, by anyone other than Fulton Revivals after our project is complete (for example, movers or other contractors).
- Any issue arising more than twelve (12) months after project completion.
Who is covered
This limited warranty is non-transferable and applies to the original customer and the original project property only.
Your remedy
If an issue falls within the coverage above, Fulton Revivals will repair it at no charge. Repair as described here is your sole and exclusive remedy under this limited warranty.
LIMITATION ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES
To the fullest extent permitted by law, any implied warranties applicable to the materials, products, or goods supplied under this Limited Warranty, including any implied warranty of merchantability or implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the one (1) year duration of this written Limited Warranty.
Some States do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.
How to make a claim
Contact us at the phone number or email on your estimate. We will assess the issue and, if it falls within the coverage above, schedule a repair at no charge.
After your warranty year
For requests outside this warranty, for example wear or damage after the coverage period, or changes you would like to an older project, Fulton Revivals may offer a flat-rate touch-up or refresh service at our discretion. Ask us and we will let you know your options.
About Your Existing Cabinets
Refinishing and refacing work with the cabinets you already have. We want you to know what to expect before we start:
- Hinges and alignment. We re-hang your existing doors on their existing hardware. Minor variations in alignment or gaps that existed before we started may remain.
- Bowing, dings, and prior damage. Warping or bowing of doors or boxes, dents and nicks in the substrate, and prior water damage are characteristics of the existing cabinets and are not corrected by painting or refinishing unless a repair is listed in your estimate.
- Filled hardware holes. When we relocate or fill old hardware holes, we camouflage them to blend with the finish, typically up to about 95%. Under certain light or at close range a filled location may still be faintly visible.
- Wood grain. On open-grain woods such as oak, the natural grain texture will show through the finish. We do not offer grain filling.
- Natural bleed-through. Some wood species can bleed through a finish over time even when prepared and sealed correctly. This is a property of the wood, not a defect in our work.
Setting these expectations up front is part of how we keep your project honest. If anything here matters to you, ask before signing and we will walk through it.
Caring for Your Finished Cabinets
Following these instructions keeps your finish looking its best and is what the care-related warranty exclusions above are based on. (This section is also provided to you as a handout when your project is completed.)
- Let the finish cure. Your finish is dry to the touch on completion but continues to harden for about 30 days. During the first 30 days, handle doors and surfaces gently, avoid scrubbing, and avoid placing heavy or sticky items directly on painted surfaces.
- Cleaning. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and, if needed, a mild dish soap. Dry afterward. Do not use abrasive pads, scouring powders, "magic eraser"-type melamine sponges, or harsh or solvent-based cleaners, as these can dull or damage the finish.
- Moisture. Wipe up spills and splashes promptly. Do not let water stand on surfaces, and avoid draping wet towels over door fronts.
- Heat and steam. Keep cabinets away from direct, sustained heat and steam. Use caution with self-cleaning oven cycles and small appliances positioned directly beneath or beside cabinet fronts.
- Humidity. Wood responds to humidity. Keeping your home's humidity reasonably stable reduces movement at joints and panels.
