Cabinet specialists who understand an Oakbrook Terrace kitchen
Oakbrook Terrace is its own small city, distinct from neighboring Oak Brook, tucked into roughly a square mile and a half near the Route 83 and Butterfield Road corridors. It grew out of former farmland, and its housing is almost entirely mid to late twentieth century, with much of it built in the late 1980s. You find brick ranches, Cape Cods, and newer traditional and Craftsman-style single-family homes on deep suburban lots, two-story townhomes concentrated on the west end, and mid-rise and high-rise condominiums, including the twelve-story Oakbrook Towers that date to the 1970s.
Because the city was built in a compressed window, the cabinetry is consistent and easy to read. The 1970s through 1990s single-family homes tend to wear oak and maple raised-panel and honey oak, and condos carry builder-grade slab or oak. These are roomy, well-built kitchens where the layout still works and only the look has fallen out of trend, which is the ideal starting point for painting or refacing into a clean, current style.
When we take on an Oakbrook Terrace kitchen, whether it is a ranch off Meyers Road or a townhome unit, we bring the same in-house finishing and design-first approach. We have taken tired honey oak to a crisp painted white, refaced dated raised-panel into a clean Shaker or Artesia, and turned a builder island into the anchor of the room. The boxes are already there and already good. Our job is to make them look intentional again.

What homeowners say after the reveal
Joe the owner is a pleasure to work with. The quoting process is meticulous and he helped me devise solutions and help me update the condo's look while keeping costs reasonable. Any issues from walkthrough is quickly addressed and Brayan from Joe's crew did a good job painting the various parts of the apartment. Will definitely work with them again and recommend Fulton Revival to anyone looking at painting jobs. Give them a call!
Joe and his team at Fulton Revivals were excellent and we are extremely pleased with the interior paint work done throughout our condo. They were professional and timely - communicating to us throughout the project. Joe had the team out quickly after project completion to address minor touch-ups post walk-through. Highly recommend and will utilize Fulton Revivals services for future work.
We recently had our kitchen cabinets refinished by Fulton Revivals. Working with Joe and Krystal was amazing and we couldn’t be happier with the results! They were professional, reliable, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Our cabinets look absolutely beautiful — it’s like we have a brand new kitchen! Their attention to detail and pride in their work truly show. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship and outstanding service.

Oakbrook Terrace questions
Frequently asked
- Is Oakbrook Terrace the same as Oak Brook?
- No, they are two separate towns. We serve both, but Oakbrook Terrace is its own compact city near Route 83 and Butterfield Road, and this page is about the ranches, townhomes, and condos there.
- Should I paint or reface my 1980s oak cabinets?
- Both are good options. Painting keeps your existing doors and gives them a new finish, while refacing replaces the doors and drawer fronts with brand new ones in a style like Shaker or Flat Panel while keeping your boxes. We will look at your cabinets and recommend the right path.
- Do you do condo cabinet work in the Oakbrook Towers?
- Yes. We coordinate building access, provide a certificate of insurance, and add your association as additional insured when the building requires it. Compact condo kitchens finish beautifully at our shop.
- Can you do a two-tone kitchen with a contrasting island?
- Yes, and Oakbrook Terrace ranch kitchens suit it well. A painted perimeter with a stained or contrasting island is one of the most effective ways to add depth to a builder kitchen.
- How long will my kitchen be out of use?
- Most cabinet projects run about five to ten working days. We do the boxes in your home over a few days, finish the doors and drawer fronts at our shop, then return for a reinstall day.
