Its heaviest growth came after the First World War, so the core stock is 1910s through 1950s: the classic 1920s Chicago brick bungalow and American Foursquare, joined by Cape Cods, Tudor cottages, brick Georgians, Colonials, and postwar ranches, with older frame homes clustered near the Metra station and a scattering of newer custom infill.
